The path rolls up and down along a narrow ridge and through lush ravines, with towering trees and almost constant shade. Plan several hours, bring plenty of water, and be ready for roots, mud, and a feeling of real backcountry despite being close to town.

The route includes moderate ups and downs and, in season, a few wet or muddy sections near the creek that add to the sense of adventure. It’s a great choice when you want to hear the creek and birds more than passing cars or other hikers.
