Ashery Country Store

Ashery Country Store is a family-owned bulk food store located in the heart of Ohio Amish Country, just north of Mt. Hope. The store offers a great selection of bulk foods, a full service deli, fresh produce, meats, and much more. Free samples of new and popular items, weekly specials, and a rewards program are provided to enhance the customer experience.

The store carries over 3,000 unique bulk food items, including baking supplies, candy, dried fruit, jams, jellies, nuts, pasta, snack mixes, soup mixes, spices, and more. Many other items are offered as well, including a great selection of coffee, soft drinks, and snacks. Squirrel corn, firewood, and ice are for sale on the front porch.

The full deli offers an assortment of local meats and cheeses, along with made-to-order subs. The produce section features a variety of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, apples, sweet potatoes, and rhubarb.

Customers can enjoy frozen custard from Cecil's Frozen Custard, or hand-dipped ice cream from the newly added Pav’s Creamery, and sit on the front porch and observe daily life in Ohio Amish Country.

The store originated in an Amish Country basement in the mid 1960’s before it was moved to its current location in 1979. Many changes have been made over the years to better serve their customers and provide them with quality products at reasonable prices.

Ashery Country Store has become known as the “grandma of bulk food stores” and is a must-see attraction for those who love Amish-style bulk food stores. The store has a Fredericksburg address, but is actually much closer to Mt. Hope, making it an attraction for both towns, as well as Holmes County and all of Ohio Amish Country.
