Addyston Review Addyston sits along the banks of the Ohio River, just west of Cincinnati, and has roots deeply tied to industry and river commerce. Founded in 1891 by Matthew Addy to house workers for his pipe and steel company, the village developed a strong sense of community built around its industrial heritage. Its compact neighborhoods and small-town character are preserved in the Village of Addyston Historic District, recognized for its cohesive historical architecture.

Almost the entire village is included within the historic district, with most buildings dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Residential streets are lined with modest vernacular homes, while remnants of early company and community life are still visible in the few commercial and religious structures scattered throughout.
